Gastronexium 20mg is a powerful acid blocker and antipyretic active ingredient used to treat gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid, a condition in which the stomach acid is too weak to be digested, or an insufficient amount of stomach acid. It reduces the amount of acid that travels into the stomach and causes symptoms such as heartburn, nausea, bloating and indigestion. It also reduces the amount of stomach acid that reaches the esophagus. GORD is a common condition among adults in the United States, affecting people of all ages and at all times. This acid blocker helps to reduce the amount of stomach acid that travels to the esophagus and loweres the risk of heartburn, which is a common side effect of some medicines. This medicine also treats other symptoms of a similar nature. By reducing the amount of stomach acid, GORD can help to reduce the severity of the symptoms of GORD.

Dosage
For the treatment of GORD and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid, a course of 20 to 40 days of treatment with gastro-resistant capsules is recommended. The capsules are to be taken orally with or without food. The dose to be taken should be sufficient to give relief of symptoms. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one. It may take 2-3 weeks before you feel the full benefits of the medicine. Do not stop taking the medicine without consulting your doctor.
Storage
Store at a temperature of 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F). Keep away from children and animals. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date printed on the pack or if the packaging is torn or shows signs of tampering.
